Bollywood Blue(s)

There is a new Bollywood movie Blue which is scheduled to release. Blue has been getting a lot of hype and attention, mainly because of the underwater phenomena.
Well I believe Bollywood always is good at marketing movies. Marketing I mean by hyping them before the release. Most of the movies over hyped have not done so well in the Box office.
There was a lot of hype about Kambhakt Ishq having some great stunts, but the movie barely managed to get back the money.
Bollywood producers and director’s do not entirely realize the importance of making a film with a good script. Most of the movies with good scripts are rip-offs of Western movies eg: Bheja Fry, Zinda.
There are very few directors who come up with great scripts. Lagaan was one of them. And if you notice the marketing stratery followed by Aamir Khan, you will notice that before you, before the First Day First show, no one knows that it is a movie about a Cricket match. Incredible! I watched this movie FDFS and I was really amazed that at the end of the movie people were so happy and excited. It is a great feeling.
Then there is Swades by Ashutosh Gowariker. Very few people in India really appreciate this great movie. I call it great, because it is really a very inspiring and great movie. And this is one movie where SRK really did act. Unfortunately our beloved Filmfare cannot appreciate the acting of SRK in this movie, but can always award him for the roles like DDLJ, Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Na Ho etc etc. Swades was also one movie where there was not much of marketing involved and one hardly knew the theme behind the movie until it was released. There are other great movies like Jodha Akbar, Black Friday, Jab We Met, Aks, Khosla ka Ghosla, Satya.
I will be doing a Review of some of such good and underrated( compared to the hyped ) Bollywood movies in my future posts for people who like ‘MOVIES WITH A DIFFERENCE’.
